Summer Vibes
Summer, summer, summer. The long-awaited summer vibes have officially arrived here in the Northern Hemisphere, and let me tell you, it’s glorious right now in my corner of the world.
I hope it’s glorious in your corner, too. Here are 5 little things from this week (summer-flavored, of course)⤵
Something true. . .
“Summer doesn’t need to be epic adventures,
packed schedules,
or Insta-worthy vacations.
It can be slow mornings,
coffee and books,
slamming screen doors,
wild raspberries,
long walks,
watermelon on the porch,
stargazing in the backyard,
watercolor sunsets,
& baseball games on TV.
The simplest days are the best kind of days.”
~my spin on a fad quote floating around the interwebs
Something good to read. . .
I spent most of this week finishing Atmosphere (and couldn’t help but feel tears stinging my eyes at the end). Up next in my earbuds is Notes on Infinity by Austin Taylor, a brand-new author who lives just up the road from me in central Maine. I’m only a couple of chapters in so far, but it’s GOOD ~ and the perfect follow-up to Atmosphere because it’s sciency and features a sweet little crush right off the bat.
I have a feeling this is going to be one of my favorites, especially since I learned about Austin Taylor from this little blurb about her in the June edition of Downeast Magazine: “Last year, a bidding war broke out at the London Book Fair over St. Albans native Austin Taylor’s debut novel. In the end, a seven-figure deal was struck for the North American rights to Notes on Infinity. . . “ I’m keeping that blurb in my vision journal, by the way, because wouldn’t we all love to bring a seven-figure book deal into our lives? Yes, I think so.
Something I’m curious about. . .
How can we find better ways to truly rest? This is a question I’ve been working on for quite a while now, and I still haven’t managed to master it. Case in point — after several decades of trial and error, I’ve finally found a work schedule that really works for me (and keeps me from suffering from weekly migraines). I go really hard with client meetings and obligations Monday-Thursday, I write on Friday mornings, and I try to rest, create, and play all weekend long. Still, every single Sunday afternoon, I feel a sense of guilt and discomfort creep up. Why? Where does this come from? Why can’t I let myself rest when I need to, without feeling like I’m doing something wrong? If you have experience mastering this, I’d love your thoughts.
Something sweet. . .
A few months back, I found a clothing company I really love (a rare thing for me) that sells ethically-sourced organic cotton everything. And right now, I’m thoroughly addicted to their fit & flare crossover dress (link here). It’s perfect for summer. I may own five of them, which sounds a little crazy, I know, but they’re cheaper when you buy in bulk, so that makes it okay, right?
Something smile-worthy. . .
I planted a little garden this week!! I, the brown thumb queen, now have a garden that could possibly, maybe, potentially, hopefully grow garlic, lavender, lemon thyme, basil, mint, squash, zucchini, bell peppers, snap peas, and if I’m super lucky, tomatoes! Here’s how it looks so far ⤵
Good vibes accepted ~ and if you have garden advice, I’d love for you to share it with me.

One last thing. . .
I hope you’re having a beautiful start to summer so far, my friend. I feel so grateful to be in your inbox every Friday morning. It’s a gift I don’t take for granted. I hope, in some way, these words of mine help you see your life as something you can love a little more every single day. I hope they help you thrive.
So much love,
Celeste
