How do I put this into words

I have three things for you this morning, although I’m still searching for the words to express them.

One.

Last week I lived in a state that has, for the most part, been spared from the senseless mass shootings that shockingly keep happening in the U.S. That certainly changed Wednesday night with the events in Lewiston. Mainers are hurting right now. We’re unsettled. And while the search for the shooter is ongoing, we’re holding our breath. I don’t know how to put this into words except to say what sadly, so many others have said before me—this has to stop happening. We have to stop it happening. [Below & in this link is an update to this tragedy along with mental health resources and a list of ways to help and support the people of Lewiston]

Two.

On the complete opposite end of life’s spectrum, our women’s retreat at Acadia & Bar Harbor last weekend turned out to be hands-down the most restorative, fun, inspiring, and encouraging ladies’ weekend I’ve ever been a part of. I don’t yet know how to put into words all that happened, except to say this— Last Friday, I left home planning to have a little outdoor fun and a few good chats with a small group of big-hearted, like-minded women, and on Monday, I came home to find that my husband had a new wife, my kids had a new mom, the world had a new Celeste—and it was me. Now I’m doing all I can to make sure she sticks around. I’m also starting to dream up the next retreat. Let me know if you’d like to be a part.

Three.

Last week, I wrote to you about the book that’s unexpectedly changing everything right now. I talked about it at the retreat, we all took the online quiz together, and talking about our results was such a powerful experience. People gained so much clarity, courage, and perspective, and lightbulbs came on for so many of us looking for guidance around our work life right now. I came straight home and started diving down the rabbit hole online, ordered the print copy of the book, and have been sharing the quiz with friends and colleagues ever since. If you’ve taken the Sparketype quiz (or want to now), I’m so curious to know your type! If you’re up for sharing, I would love to hear your results, how they resonate with you, and what comes up as you think about them⤵

This weekend, I hope you’re able to enjoy a bit of beautiful fall weather somewhere with people who bring you all the cozy feelings—and I hope you catch a minute or two to hug someone you love extra tight, snuggle up with a good book on the couch, and be you.

Hope to hear from you soon!
