10 Ways to Thrive This Week

If your back is aching this morning because you spent 3+ hours sitting on the floor wrapping presents last night, if money is flying out of your bank account faster than it’s going in and the rate seems to be increasing exponentially, if your kitchen looks like you’re preparing to feed an army or survive a zombie apocalypse, if you’ve spent so much time thinking about, buying, and worrying over gifts and special foods that you can’t even think straight and it still doesn’t feel like you have everything, if you’re there like I am this morning, chances are you’re celebrating Christmas this week with people you love.

You’re grateful.

You’re excited.

You’re exhausted.

Me too.

Others are battling loneliness this year, fighting illness, or dealing with unexpected loss, uncontrollable circumstances, or complicated family dynamics that have changed holiday plans.

You’d love some encouragement.

You need inspiration.

You’re looking for something to breathe new life into you.

I’ve got you.

Below are a few of my favorite resources — the ones I’ve gone back to again and again, the ones I’m rereading right now as I prepare for the holiday ahead and the start of the new year.

I hope the good stuff behind these links helps you thrive this week⤵

➳ If you’re looking for a simple high note to end your year on, try the easiest, most impactful year-end reflection I’ve ever done.

⊹⊹⊹

➳ If you’re struggling with thoughts about measuring up, wondering if you should throw in the towel on your creative projects because everyone else is already doing it better than you, read these wise words from a new author in his eighties and these thoughts on what really matters and check out this song about quitting daydreams.

⊹⊹⊹

➳ If you want something different in a specific area of your life and you have no idea how to begin to get there, start with this question, then read these quotes, and check out this book.

⊹⊹⊹

➳ If you want to achieve something big next year, make a big change, or go after one of your biggest dreams, but you need help figuring out how to do that, try the vision boarding practice that changed everything for me this year.

⊹⊹⊹

➳ If you’re frustrated because you already tried setting a vision for your dream and now you’re feeling lost because the vision seems blurry, try James Clear’s way.

⊹⊹⊹

➳ If you need to make some deep changes, consider embarking on an unbecoming process before making a new goals list.

⊹⊹⊹

➳ If you’re feeling unwell, especially rundown, exhausted, or overwhelmed, take a break, try this book-flavored wellness hack, and take an intentional sick day or two while you’re at it.

⊹⊹⊹

➳ If you’re experiencing a dark night of the soul right now, or battling your way through an in-between time, read this encouragement about dark nights of the soul and my favorite inspiring quotes for in-between times.

⊹⊹⊹

➳ If you want more inspiration and encouragement, visit the blog archives, dive into as many articles as you want, and use the little “Older” button at the bottom of each page to find more and more and more. (You’ll find over 250 articles there.)

Whatever’s going on in your house, your head, and your heart this week, I truly hope it turns out to be good. I hope you’re celebrating all you’ve accomplished this year. I hope you’re giving yourself grace for the mistakes and missteps. I hope you’re able to rest and gather strength for the new year ahead. I hope you’re able to enjoy it all so, so much.

Here’s to us thriving this week ~ no matter what,
Celeste
