I have an annual recurring event on my calendar for April 4th. It’s a special day for me. A day to remember, a day to celebrate. Because on this day in 2019, I posted my first personal blog and sent my first-ever email group message in what was to become my very own online business. After five years of trying (and failing) to run a travel blog and another couple of years of trying (and failing) to run my own location-independent business, it was a brave move.

Now. every year, without fail, when April 4th rolls around and I see the reminder on my calendar, I can’t help but be incredibly grateful to that 2019 version of me who said yes to her little writing dream and pressed “Send” on that first email message. Because even though my writing dream hasn’t turned out exactly like what I was picturing all those years ago, I’m still writing for hundreds of readers every Friday morning (and loving it), and my online business has, I would argue, in many ways, turned out far better than I could ever have dreamed possible six years ago. And along the way, as an added bonus, I’ve been able to create and share 2 books, 300+ blogs, and 3 courses that never would have existed had I not said yes and pressed that first “Send” button.
